Don Iannone is a 32-year veteran of economic development, who has held leadership positions with the International Economic Development Council, Council on Urban Economic Development, American Economic Development Council, Midamerica Economic Development Council, and Ohio Economic Development Association.
He has worked on over 300 ED projects in 42 states & 13 countries during his career. His clients include: St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association, Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities, Inc., Charlotte Regional Partnership, Ohio Department of Development, Greater Phoenix Economic Council, Team Northeast Ohio, Penn State University, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame & Museum, The Cleveland Clinic, Northwest Pennsylvania Regional Commission, Regional Growth Partnership of Toledo, U.S. Department of Labor, and the Governor's Ohio Workforce Policy Board.
Don has published over 30 articles & book chapters on economic development and environmental issues. In 2006, he authored the economic development chapter of a new book by the International City and County Managers Association (ICMA) on managing local government. He co-authored a book on economic development incentives in 1999, published by the US Economic Development Administration (EDA) & the National Association of State Development Agencies (NASDA). He is currently researching leadership issues & trends in economic development.

Don led the economic development center at CSU for 14 years. He grew the program from scratch, building a fulltime staff of policy and planning professionals, and gained the research involvement of several academic faculty members.
The center attained national recognition through its research, teaching and public service activities in local and state economic development. It was designated by the Commerce Department as a University Economic Development Center, and by the US EPA as an environmental business center.
Many of Don's former students hold top professional and academic positions in the economic development and planning fields.

Don started and directed the center for its first two years. In 1986, he was recruited by Cleveland State University to startup a new economic development center within its Urban Affairs College.

Don directed the business development program at the Growth Association. In that capacity he led a team working on business retention, expansion, and attraction.
Don was a pioneer in creating target industry development programs in economic development. He created a series of target industry initiatives at the Growth Association focused on the automotive, biomedical, polymer, instruments and controls, headquarters, and high-tech startups sectors.
He left in 1983 to work on private consulting assignments for 18 months in East Asia (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong).

M.A. , Transformational Psychology/Consciousness Studies , 2006 — 2007
Consciousness studies focuses on the intersection of mind, body and spirit. The field, while emerging, is fueling a revolution in medicine, brain science, creativity, psychology, organizational behavior and other fields with its breakthroughs in understanding the causal role of consciousness in human creativity and life.
I am near completion of my 2-year study program and I am writing my thesis at this time. I have been taught by a worldwide and worldclass faculty; all leaders in their fields with PhDs, MDs, and DDs.

Completed the 3-year professional study program. Wrote my thesis on attracting foreign direct investment in United States.
I have had the privilege of serving as a faculty member at EDI for 20 years, teaching courses on economic development strategic planning, workforce development, international investment attraction, and future issues in economic development.
