Being an advisor since 1994 and now working as an external wholesaler, it's very interesting to see the "other side". As an advisor the wholesalers I relied on were the ones who provided answers to technical questions and supplied stories I could use with my clients about a product or strategy. Most wholesalers don't have the practical or real life experiences to provide the whole package advisors need. Product knowledge is important, but without solutions for their business needs; marketing, prospecting, client relations and money management you’re just another wholesaler pedaling a product.
All businesses need three things to be successful:
Systems-Implement key systems to create efficiencies in marketing and operations.
Leverage-Create opportunities where clients can be obtained in numbers. 1on1 sales are key, but increasing client numbers via group settings will provide leverage
Strategic Alliances-Create ongoing strategic alliances. Use SA’s for networking, referrals, system implementation and operations
