Founded GTN telecom, the 1st alternative telecommunications operator in Switzerland in 1996. Raised over USD 17 million in VC funding and managed the exponential growth of the operations to become Switzerland's #3 alternative carrier. Sold the company to World Access in 2000.
Founded Echovox in 2000 and developed the company's activities in over 18 countries. Development of the company includes signing partnership agreements with over 100 mobile carriers for mobile content delivery and billing and providing mobile entertainment services to the largest European media companies. Echovox is now processing over 30 million mobile transactions a month on its infrastructure and is an established player in media monetization through transaction-enabled mobile entertainment applications (Interactive TV, Games, Downloads, Content Storefronts).
Founded VOX telecom in 2003, a wholesale voice carrier with interconnections throughout the Americas (North, South and Latin America), Europe, Middle East and Asia. VOX telecom now serves over 60% of the incumbent operators across the globe.
In 2006, co-founded echo6, a Joint Venture between Echovox and French media group M6 (Metropole Television), active in mobile media entertainment and TV-Mobile interactivity and convergence.
Moved to Silicon Valley in early 2008 to spearhead the launch of Zong (part of Echovox), now the leading mobile payments platform for gaming and social networking companies. Zong enables seamless payments for more than 350 Facebook and MySpace applications as well as dozens of leading virtual worlds and gaming platforms.
