Skaugen PetroTrans (SPT) is a jointly owned company of I.M Skaugen ASA (50%) and Teekay Shipping Corporation (50%). SPT is the world's largest company performing ship-to-ship
transfers of crude oil and operates out of Houston, Texas. On a daily basis, SPT lighter 1.1 million barrels of crude a day, or 15%of all seaborne crude oil into US ports. SPT operates 9 Aframax tankers and 8 Lightering Support Vessels.
My responsibility at SPT was to establish the vision for SPT and communicate that vision to the employees so as to engage and motivate them to succeed. I lead the strategic process to establish
the strategies, tactics and plans to implement the vision.

The primary objective and job purpose of the position of Managing Director, Australia is to ensure that the Company fleet operates efficiently in a safe and environmentally sound manner and that it provides a competitive, reliable shipping service in the carriage of crude oil and finished products. Teekay Australia is a profit centre and as such was supported by growing business in ship management and marine services.
