I am a seasoned professional.
I am accustomed to conducting research on a variety of topics. Making decisions on what can be effectively used in a learning enviornment. Working with a team to develop and implement plans. Securing materials to use in a classroom setting. Selecting and ordering materials.
Making connections with community resources to enhance classroom experiences.
My communication skills are well developed. I can express ideas and concepts in a clear manner.
Head Start was a great professional venue for me. I learned how to connect with a variety of people in my work situation. I took full advantage of the educational development programs. Lead a team of assistant teachers in creating a diverse learning community.
I was laid off in May of 2007 due to administrative changes in the program. I decided during that transition that it was time for me to make a change in my career focus and goals.
Since I have been at home, I have been busy learning how to effectively use a PC. I also have been busy working on line by joining social networks, learning how to set up and maintain a website, and conducting research on topics of professional and personal interest.
I have also participated in a career development mini-course. The course was sponsored by New Directions. I have successfully identified my capabilities and interests.
Currently I am exploring the possibilities in the work world. I am developing contacts and creating networks that will assist me in completing my goal of finding a new career
When I am hired into a new position, I plan to enroll into the on line degree program sponsored by the University of Cincinnati. I want to complete my degree work in the field of education.
