As Executive Vice President of Document Management Services, I’m responsible for managing the profitability of a maturing service line. Translation: ensuring there’s a proverbial cash cow to milk. I’m responsible for sales, operations, and marketing strategy and I lead a team consisting of 2 national directors, and 9 general managers.

Prior to being promoted to EVP, I was the company’s strategy officer. In that role, I was responsible for operational analysis and strategy for the entire company. I was promoted into that role as a result of my work as Director of E-Discovery at IVIZE, where I assisted the CEO and our private equity owners in developing a strategy to “buy” E-Discovery capabilities versus build them. This work resulted in the purchase of Modus and the merger of the two companies under the Modus brand. I was also responsible for the operations and project management teams for IVIZE’s E-Discovery business which then supported 12 locations and 1,200 law-firm clients.

As Senior Program Manager for DTI, my responsibilities included the creation and management of a ‘silo-ed’ project management and operational systems that supported large corporate customers. These clients included a number of Fortune 500 companies and generated $5+ million a year in revenue. I developed and managed customized work flows to help these customers manage their overall E-Discovery spend. I was also a functional lead responsible for project management and operational employees that were assigned to support specific clients.

Prior to the creation of the Senior Program Manager role, I was one of the first Senior E-Discovery Project Managers at DTI’s National Technology Center. I was responsible for end-to-end support of customers: front-end consulting, project management, customer development and relationship management, and sales support. As one of the first team members in this role, I led the charge to build processes to support what was then a business line still in its infancy.

I was responsible for sales, operations, human resources, and the store’s overall profitability. Within a year, I helped move the store from an under-performer to a top-performing store- eventually becoming one of the Southeast’s “Centers of Excellence”. During my tenure, I hired, trained, and developed 4 employees that were promoted from my store to manage stores of their own.

Rent-A-Center is the largest rent-to-own operator in the United States with an approximate 32% market share based on store count as of September 30, 2013. At June 30, 2013, Rent-A-Center operated approximately 3,142 company-owned stores nationwide, Canada, and in Mexico and Puerto Rico.
