  I worked on the BizTalk Server Developer Tools Team. As an intern I provided an implementation of "coalescing" (a feature prototyped by Robertson et al. at Microsoft Research for their HCI Paper on improving the schema mapping process). It is a UI feature and is expected to significantly improve the user experience of a developer who is creating XSLT maps. Additionally, I fixed a number of bugs and also implemented Copy Paste functionality in a Biztalk Mapper prototype.

  Some of the major responsibilities I have undertaken are:
  1. Contacting and actively engaging various corporates to seek out and confirm sponsorships of various events of Cognizance.
  2. Being the public face of Cognizance at various corporate gatherings like the PanIIT Alumni meet to promote its brand and its achievements.
  3. Leading a team of highly skilled students and ensure that an erstwhile campus bound coding event (Insomnia) is taken online and international.
  4. Working as a member of the Cognizance website team to ensure a bug-free website and the smooth execution of all online events.
  5. Working closely with the sponsorship team to ensure that all sponsorship commitments of Cognizance are fulfilled.
  6. Creating PARC - the Payment, Accomodation, Registration Control system used for proper accounting of registrations and accomodation allotments for all attendees during Cognizance 09.
  
  Achievements:
  * The Cognizance website has received over a million hits, much more that its contemporaries - techkriti (IITK) and techfest (IITB) and is ranked much higher in the Alexa rankings than the other two.
  
  * Insomnia was taken from a campus limited event to an international event featuring participation from US, UK, Ukraine and China. A complete automated grading system was developed using C++, PERL, Python and PHP for grading the submitted programs. The event was held over a period of 2 months with 6000 unique visitors and over 40,000 page views in collaboration with the sponsors - Directi and Codechef.
  
  * The PARC system was successfully developed using Django/Python and deployed on a WAMP configuration. The entire registration procedure of over 2700 participants was handled using this system. The system proved to be robust and secure, even in the face of power losses and database corruption faced during its operation.
