Since 2006 I've pursued the advancement of statistical analysis of hockey (specifically the NHL) at my blog, www.ontheforecheck.com. By combining readily available information in new ways, it becomes possible to investigate questions such as whether highly physical teams are more successful than others, and provide quantitative measurements to help identify players and/or methods which may be over- or under-rated in leading to competitive success.
As of February 2009, On The Forecheck has joined the SB Nation community of sports blogs. My work has also been cited in the New York Times and Montreal Gazette.
