Dina is a founder and Managing Director of Mosoci India. With a Master’s Degree in Sociology and a background in anthropology and psychology, she has spent twenty years specializing in qualitative research and ethnography. She set up Explore Research & Consultancy in 1998, which has a portfolio of global clients including Unilever, MTV, JJVC, IFTF, Pitney Bowes Inc., Dell Inc, Intuit, Nokia, The Future Company and Greenberg Research. She is at the forefront of technology trend research in India including learning journeys, and immersions for innovation teams. Dina brings her unique perspective to understanding the emerging social aspects of new technology and the impact of new media on youth and mobility.
From 2003, she has contributed to building several communities on the internet, such as Worldchanging, Tsunami Help, KatrinaHelp, Asia Quake Help, SkypeJournal and is on the Advisory Board of Global Voices Online. Dina is on an Advisor to Global Voices Online and a Sub-Board Member of the Information Program at Open Society Institute. She was selected as a TED Fellows for TEDIndia held in November 2009.
Presenter and Speaker: on Social Tools in Research and Collaboration – Reboot 7 in Copenhagen in June 2005, and at EPIC 2005 in Seattle in November 2005. Paper on Mobile Spaces at Microsoft Research’s Social Computing Summit in Seattle in May 2006. BlogHer 2006 in San Jose, on a Panel discussion on developing grassroots Communities around Social Tools. Was a facilitator of the Open Publishing stream at AsiaSource 2 in Indonesia in Jan 2007 and Info-Activism Camp in 2009, Panel on Trust in Social Networks and what it means for our societies, at the Women’s Forum at Deauville, France in October 2007.
Written articles in mainstream media on blogging, a chapter in the Worldchanging Book and is frequently invited to participate in Radio and TV shows, with media organizations like the BBC World and CNN-IBN.
