As a contract technical writer, I provide hardware and software documentation support to IBM's Tape Storage projects. I write and edit documentation and user assistance files for user interface software. I coordinate with project engineers, software and hardware developers, and product testers in the U.S., Japan, and Germany to create customer and end-user documents. Towards this end, I also collaborate with visual information specialists, photographers, and multimedia computer specialists to produce effective graphics, diagrams, and animated tutorials. I validate document accuracy using prototype and production versions of the product. Additionally, I also direct completed documents through the publication and translation processes.

As technical writer and editor for an environmental science and engineering (hydrology and geology) firm, I edited technical reports and scientific conference papers, wrote and edited research and project proposals (RFP and RFQ), and directed a four-person pre-press publication staff.
I reviewed and edited over 100 technical reports and documents per year. I compiled and reviewed in context supporting documentation (data tables, maps, illustrations, engineer specifications, and laboratory reports).
