I am in charge of collecting information, designing and organizing all special sections printed in The Mercury newspaper. This includes a weekly entertainment section in which I organize and manage a small group of freelance writers. My work also includes organizing and editing advertorial and original copy submitted by local advertisers and writers to use in advertising special sections. My skills and knowledge of the newspaper industry make me extremely knowledgeable in how to get noticed by local media and how to get results.
I am and expert in QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Microsoft office and Adobe Acrobat. I have excellent computer and communication skills.

In this position I was in charge of laying out and designing the news sections of the paper, as well as organizing and assigning stories to three writers. I also designed all of the special sections the were put out by the paper. I also was in charge of supervising the press run to be sure the paper looked its best.

During my senior year I was selected by the Anti-Defamation League for a study mission to Israel and Poland with college newspaper editors from the Philadelphia area and across the United States.Study Mission to Israel. During the trip, we visited Holocaust sites in Poland and major cities in Israel, including Jerusalem, Gaza and Nazareth. I met Jewish and Arab leaders to discuss tensions in the area. Spent a day with the Israeli Army discussing their primary goals.
