CORI'd by the Town of Groton and the Archdiocese of Boston. I taught visual art to students in grades K-8. Influenced by the Archdiocese of Boston's Curriculum Guidelines for Teaching and Learning in the Visual and Performing Arts, I set up age-appropriate lessons in various media with certain goals in mind. These objectives were to realize a) skill improvement of each individual and b) self-discovery of a comfort level when creating art that is not evident in all children. Class size ranged ordinarily from 22-26 children. Another of my duties was the production of a school-wide Art Fair, for which my students chose their best pieces, with guidance, in some cases, and mount and display them. Additionally, one of our students was chosen as an Honorable Mention winner at the Scholastic Art Awards in Boston.
