Dimitri Gielis’s Summary

At an early age I started with computers (Apple II, IBM XT) and I quickly knew I would like to work with computers and especially with databases all my life.

In 2000 I became a consultant at Oracle Belgium where I got in touch with almost every Oracle product, my expertise was mainly in the database area.

In 2004 I took the challenge to start an Oracle team at Ausy. My role was to begin Oracle missions and start a new Oracle Competence Centre.

From 2003 onwards I promote Oracle Application Express (APEX-HTMLD), which resulted in becoming Vice President of the IOUG APEX SIG in December 2006. In 2006 I also started a Blog where I post my thoughts and try to share my knowledge, especially APEX and Oracle related.

In 2007 I started and managed, as Business Unit Manager Oracle, an Oracle practice at Ordina Belgium.

In 2008 I took the decision to start working full time for Apex Evangelists, a company founded by John Scott and myself at the end of 2006, which specialises in Oracle Application Express.
