-Derrick has written a technical article on the forensic analysis of the windows registry, which has been featured on forensicfocus.com and will be published this fall in HEX: The Collegiate Journal of Computer Forensics.
-Last year Derrick completed an internship with C3DI, where he conducted digital forensic research projects for the Vermont Internet Crimes Task Force (ICTF) and assisted a forensic examiner at Burlington Police Department with imaging digital evidence using FTK.
-In 2007, his dedication and technical abilities were recognized by Champlain College faculty, who presented him with the Student Leadership in Computers & Digital Forensics Award.

Helped organize and establish the Digital Forensic Association (on-campus club) at Champlain College. Our goal was to encourage extra-curricular participation, supplement the computer and digital forensics curriculum by presenting new ideas and discussion, to raise awareness amongst the College’s computer forensics community, and to provide a venue for practical, hands-on forensic investigation training. The club is still very active today and has easily doubled in membership since 2006.
