My responsibilities included all marketing and sales to provider organizations and business development with payor organizations.

As the Healthcare Sales Manager for SearchAmerica specializing in revenue cycle management solutions, I was responsible for all pipeline development , sales and marketing for the northern tier of the U.S.. During my first 12 months in the position, (after starting with a completely empty pipeline) I closed 60 deals including the Trinity Healthcare system, Novi, MI and the Cleveland Clinic Healthcare system.

I was responsible for all fund-raising activity and managed such funds for a $410,000 non-profit family resource center. Funding increased by 25% in one year. I managed staff of fifteen outreach coordinators, program managers and day-care providers (for an on-site free drop-in daycare center), providing services to an average 15 adults and 10 children per day. As the administrative director, I represented organization in community building efforts such as the Neighborhood Revitalization Project and was a founding member Phillips Neighborhood Lead Collaborative, an organization that lead community awareness of the dangers of childhood lead poisoning and resulted in securing health care for children with lead poisoning.

I trained and lead a multi-disciplinary team of twelve healthcare professionals in the art of referral development, increasing referrals by 50%. This team was able to increase average daily census at 60-bed psychiatric facility from 30 to 55 in less than 12 months. I also produced a radio talk show which discussed parenting concerns; recruited guests, wrote promotional copy and monitored productions, increasing awareness of the organization’s programs and services.

Working with our regional sales managers, developed and implemented marketing/sales plans advertising campaigns for five regional health maintenance organizations, creating awareness and meeting enrollment objectives for these new entry plans. As a member of the product development team, I helped to develop small business and individual managed healthcare products that were marketed through five regional health maintenance organizations. This required understanding of each individual state’s mandated minimum benefit requirements and conditions for filing. I conducted advertising agency search these managed care organizations.

After starting as the Assistant Marketing Manager for Large Group Products, I was promoted to Marketing Manager and was responsible for the planning and execution of a $1 million plus marketing and promotions budget for a large regional health maintenance organization.
I coordinated a multi-disciplinary team on a $500,000 plus research project that led to the repositioning of the organization and conducted an advertising agency search for implement new positioning. I also acted as the marketing liaison with all staff and group model clinics to communicate marketing and sales efforts to all clinic personnel.

This was the first class of what became the Carlson School of Management. We were the guinea pigs. It was an intense 12 month program. My concentration was Marketing. I also worked as a teaching assistant in the undergraduate marketing program and a research assistant in the product management program in addition to maintaining a 20 hour/week part-time job.

I hold a BBA with a comprehensive major in Marketing and two undeclared minors in Psychology and French. In addition to my studies, I held a part-time 20 hour/week position.
Aside from maintaining competitive intelligence in the health care industry, I spend my off-time knitting, gardening, motorcycling ( I ride, don't drive), camping, fishing and spending time with my daughters whenever they have the time. :)
