* Author of "The Power of One: The Unsung Everyday Heroes Rescuing America's Cities" and co-author of "Living in Abundance" (with Wayne Dyer, Tony Robbins, Michael Beckwith and 50 others). I'm working on a second book, a parable, on the new citizen-inspired trend of social innovation.
Conducted research on innovative civic solutions inspired at the local level from 1995-2005 and have received growing attention by the media including The Chicago Sun-Times. I've held books signings in a dozen cities, been a guest on over 75 radio/TV talk shows, and hosted a radio talk show in 2007, The Power of One: What's Your Mission? on VoiceAmerica.com. I speak to business and nonprofit audiences on the topics of "The New Civic America", "Creating Heroes of All Ages", and "The Power of One."

* From the mid-1970s to the early 1980s, as one of the few women on legislative staffs, I held positions in three states serving as a finance analyst for the Illinois Senate Appropriations and Local Government Committees and as a budget and program analyst of social programs for the Kentucky Legislative Research Commission and the Minnesota Legislative Audit Commission. Authored studies in the areas of welfare, education, and chemical dependency.
First real job was as a Congressional Intern on the Watergate hearings in Washington, D.C.
