I am researching the ways that news media use the internet to engage citizens with public affairs. In particular I'm looking at news blogs and citizen journalism. My cases of study are: news.com.au, blogs.bbc.co.uk and OhmyNews International.
I'm also a sessional academic in the school of Media and Communication in the Creative Industries Faculty at the Queensland University of Technology. I have lectured and tutored in Media Industries, Virtual Cultures and New Media Technologies.
My role as a research assistant with the Citizen Journalism ARC Linkage project requires me to investigate a number of citizen journalism sites.
My formal qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism), Monash and Bachelor of Journalism (Hons 1st class ), Queensland University of Technology.
Other key academic studies include: Creative Writing, Screen Studies, Philosophy, Sociology and Literary Studies.
