Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) in Washington DC is the first stop for many of America's returning wounded service members from Iraq and Afghanistan. Known as "the amputee ward", the orthopedic Ward 57 at WRAMC houses some of the most severely injured patients for weeks or even months. The painful sacrifice of losing one or more limbs is the new battle these service members and their families now fight.
Operation Ward 57 was started to have a direct way for individuals and companies to show their support and raise funds for these courageous men and women who have given so much.

We work to ensure that arts and culture are an integral part of city vision and planning, and to heighten awareness of the civic value of culture in such arenas as arts education, economic vitality and cultural tourism.
The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs not only supports arts training for youth, we advocate for arts education in Seattle Public Schools.
Our office and the Seattle Arts Commission's partnership with Seattle Public Schools promotes the development of system-wide arts education for all students. The office and commission's efforts include helping to frame policy and arts-education goals for the district's Five-Year Plan adopted in 2005.

The Academy has 12 regional chapters throughout the country. Members who join the Academy are placed in the chapter closest to their residence. Chapter offices represent the Academy on a local level by working within that region's music and recording communities and addressing its needs through education, advocacy, professional development and events. In addition, the Chapter serves as a conduit for other members to meet, network and address the concerns of the recording industry both nationally and locally.
Chapters are governed by a Board of Governors and have elected Trustees who are responsible for the financial health of the Chapter. Members are encouraged to be involved in Chapter government, serve on committees and take a leadership role in the developing of Academy initiatives.
