Hi!
I'm a retired nurse, wife, and mother of two sons, who is in love with the written word! Now is a perfect time for me to shake things up & revisit one of my earliest passions-writing!
I am currently focused on and enjoying the production of an ever-expanding portfolio of web content; work to date includes articles on various topics, product reviews, narrative non-fiction and fiction, short stories, and children's stories. I dream of authoring a book someday and hope to write for print in the future. I have various interests with a focus on psychology, self awareness and the human condition, multiple sclerosis and literary writing. The art of writing well was my first love, and am now finally able to explore all it's possibilities! I am very interested in learning about career opportunities in the writing field.
Trained as a licensed practical nurse, I have had almost 20 years experience working in hospitals and nursing homes. I have continued my education and completed all but 10 months of clinical duty towards obtaining my RN, with an associates' degree in nursing. My specialties are pediatric and geriatric nursing. I am Alzheimer certified.
I enjoy interior decorating, and am talented in the creation of artistic floral arrangements and decor items. I also have a penchant for faux painting, both furniture and interiors. I am in the process of resurrecting another early talent, that of sketching and painting. I harbor the dream of authoring a children's book someday, which I would also illustrate myself. (Shhh-there is something "in the works" at present!)
I am a stickler for grammer and punctuation, and actually enjoy looking for errors to correct! I am in the process of furthering my talent for writing; be it short stories, fiction or non-fiction, web content, or articles of all kinds. I am always working steadily on improving the good skills I already have.
