I have worked in the software industry since 1990 for the insurance, banking and marketing sectors. Since 1998 I have been developing marketing automation and analytics software. I have worked for a variety of companies from small internet startups to global corporations. I started out in mainframe development using Basic and Cobol before moving into PC based development using Visual Basic in the mid 1990s. In 2000 I switched to developing in Java and have been using it ever since.
I'm particulary interested in Java development and relational databases. I have a solid background in SAS, Oracle, Teradata, DB2, Sybase and SQL Server. I am also a keen Linux developer.
I am also the owner of several web sites which I develop and manage in my spare time. I have a working knowledge of PHP, Apache, HTML and web site design.
