Experienced Head of Digital Marketing & Public Speaker
St Albans, United Kingdom
I'm an experienced digital marketer who makes sense of Web2.0 and social media for clients. I love sharing old ideas and coming up with new ones, so along with consultancy I write for the press with regular features for magazines such as Cue Entertainment and Third Sector; along with recent interviews and articles for Times Higher Education and the Health Service Journal.
I talk quite a bit at conferences too, most notably recently at the NHS Communicate '08 and the higher education CASE conference in Brighton.
I've been involved with the web industry for around 10 years. Originally focusing on usability and accessibility, authoring the UK's first professional course on accessibility, conceiving the Worlds first accessible viral Flash marketing tool for the RNIB and was on the review board for the PAS 78 accessibility guidelines too.
My main focus now is digital marketing, with a particular interest in web2.0 and social media. I've been lucky enough to work on some great projects, from microsites to enterprise applications, for famous brands such as Motorola, eBay, Economist.com, PayPal, HP, GSMA, FremantleMedia, Big Pictures, MrPaparazzi.com, Hill & Knowlton, Gillette, University of Birmingham, University of Southampton, Business Link and many more.
I jointly conceived and set the strategy for MrPaparazzi.com which won the Yahoo! Finds of the Year entertainment award. I was also a judge last year for the Third Sector awards and sit on an NHS HealthSpace panel - part of Connecting for Health.
