Workflow Design: Scanning pipeline design for the DI on Children of Men and Atonement.
Systems Analysis: Analysis and documentation of the digital pipeline for a visual effects production house and a film scanning & recording facility. Optimisation of a 250-processor render farm by customisation and tuning of distributed render management software.
Software Development and Systems Automation: Development of Python/BASH/CSH systems tools and data extraction tools on Linux. Object-oriented programming developments in Python, C++ and Java, using UML and USDP. Construction and manipulation of Oracle (8.0) and MS SQL Server 2000 databases, as well as intranet pages using XML, CSS and XSLT. Automation of image resizing, digital subtitling, scan tracking and cleaning using IR maps, and generation of KDMs for D-Cinema distribution.
Systems Integration: Identification of common workflows in 3 different companies in order to design a unified content management system that can be implemented on a common infrastructure. Separation of data storage implementation and system functionality by an API to create a solid development platform for new tools while at the same time allowing for future integration with a DI database being developed by another division.
Project Management: Lead several projects including the development of a CG pipeline training program, the rapid documentation of the CG water pipeline using video and screen capture software, and a project to optimise a render farm in a hectic multi-project environment.
