David S. Rose has been described as "the Father of Angel Investing in New York" by Crain's New York Business, and a "world conquering entrepreneur" by BusinessWeek. He is a serial entrepreneur and Inc 500 CEO who chairs New York Angels, one of the most active angel investment groups in the country. As an entrepreneur, David is CEO of Angelsoft, which operates the standard collaboration platform for over 16,000 early-stage investors.
He is Chairman of the New York-based private equity firm Egret Capital Partners, on the boards of KoolSpan, Panjiva, Pond5, Magnify Networks and Comxiology, and has helped to fund over seventy-five startup companies.
David is Chairman of the Finance and Entrepreneurship track of the NASA/Google Singularity University, and is a keynote speaker on the future of business and technology. Dubbed by BusinessWeek "The Pitch Coach" for his ability to help entrepreneurs perfect their fundraising skills, he is a frequent guest lecturer at business schools including Yale, Harvard, Columbia, NYU, others UVA.
David founded wireless Internet pioneer AirMedia Corporation, in 1988. In 1997 he was honored as a finalist for Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year Award and in 1984, Time magazine profiled him in its "Computer as Man of the Year" issue.
Earlier in his career David was co-founder and Chairman of one of the world’s first computer training firms, and spent a decade developing technology-enhanced real estate in New York, Washington, DC and Boston with the firm of Rose Associates, Inc. Prior to that, he served as Deputy Director of the New York office of US Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan.
A native New Yorker, David has a B.A. from Yale University (where he is an Associate Fellow of Pierson College) and an M.B.A. in Finance from Columbia University Business School (where he serves on the Advisory Board of the Center for Entrepreneurship). He is a graduate of the New York City public school system and Horace Mann High School.
