Venture and Technology Consultant
San Francisco Bay Area
I offer established and emerging company leaders with advice, resources, and investment help to achieve profitability, maximize sustainable growth, and reach liquidity.
I have in depth experience with Software as a Service (SaaS), Internet Security, Social Media, Privacy and Spam, Translation and Localization, CRM, Financial, and International Trading Platforms. I enjoy helping companies round out their teams, focus their operations, and pull together the resources and knowledge needed to fully monetize their ideas and inventions.
While many of the business I have been involved with over the years have been successful, two of the three companies I personally founded or co-founded have resulted in highly successful liquidity events. The most recent being ScanAlert, Inc., an internet security company and the inventor of "Hacker Safe(tm)" which grew to be the most recognized trust mark on the Internet until its successful acquisition by McAfee in January of 2008.
Another was Corio, Inc., which had a successful IPO in 2000. Corio and its predecessor Etera Systems were the first companies to find success in delivering Software as a Service (SaaS) to SME companies. Now SaaS is common.
At present, in addition to consulting activities, I advise or serve on the boards of several young companies and an educational non-profit, all of which are doing well through very difficult economic times.
I also enjoy fatherhood, my two great kids, travel, rock climbing, skiing and scuba diving and do these things as often as I can.
Business Development, Venture Investment, Mergers and Acquisitions, IPOs, Board Directorship, Product Strategy, and Operations. Creative problem solver on a range of growth issues in small to medium sized entrepreneurial companies.
