As a Director on the NKF Consulting team, I have responsibilities to support our many services across all business types. Our approach is to look at and understand real estate and operational issues from three perspectives: location, function and on-going management. Without understanding the processes that drive real estate needs it is impossible to actually develop an effective portfolio strategy.

Data/Business Intelligence – Use QlikView to develop processes and applications to create visibility to disparate data sets across organizations. Develop, maintain and update custom demo applications for use in broad applications and industry silos (Sourcing/Procurement, Healthcare, Law Firms, Supply Chain, Real Estate, Government).

Location Optimization – Evaluate client criteria for facility locations and align that with local qualities to identify zones of opportunity to relocate or expand operations. Use industry standard data sets to evaluate demographics, psychographics and geographical features.

Supply Chain/Logistics – Perform Supply Chain evaluations for large clients. Evaluate inventory positions, model transportation costs for location optimization (using LogicNet), study labor management practices and recommend strategies, design and budget warehouse layouts for implementation.

Workplace Strategies – Evaluate and improve office work functions through the use of various analytical tools including Activity Based Costing, Lean and Six Sigma. Work with a team of architects and designers to develop comprehensive strategy.

Portfolio Strategies – Work as part of a team to integrate business process and space efficiency practices. Combine and standardize broad processes across a portfolio to increase utilization and reduce costs.

Sales Support – Present at outside seminars, developed and maintained a company blog, develop client presentations.

Warehouse implementation projects. Worked in the Global Facilities Engineering group designing, managing build-outs and implementing client solutions in facilities across the US.

822,000 SF Pharma/Hi Tech ground-up warehouse in Louisville KY. Was in charge of design, implementation and FDA validation of air and temperature systems.

In charge of design and drafting for the Global Facilities Engineering department. Created drafting sheet sets for IT Specifications, Security Specifications and Construction Documentation. Created an AutoCAD block library of several hundred standard warehouse items including real world specifications, vendors and pricing.

Assisted in ground-up design of 750,000 SF distribution center in Mira Loma CA. Designed the implementation plans for several clients after building completion.
