Dave Malouf’s Summary
I have been working primarily in Internet front-end design for the past 15 years. For the last 6 years of that time I have specialized in interaction and user interface design for complex enterprise level applications for Unisys, Sony, Documentum, and now at Intralinks.
I have been focused on the Internet in my business life, but my future is in more direct interaction design where the products and systems are hybrids of screen software and hardware that encapsulates that screen.
My previous position for Motorola Enterprise Mobility (FKA Symbol Technologies) combines my vast experience in enterprise applications with my desire to work on designing hybrids where screen and device are both designed together.
Now, I am starting a new adventure of designing designers, by becoming the Professor of Interactions Design at the Savannah College of Art & Design.
My long term goal is to develop a system for re-designing the human behaviors between technologies in the home.
I am also a speaker and writer. My work has been published at BoxesAndArrows.com, Core77.com, UXMatters.com, UIGarden.net and JohnnyHolland.com as well as in print for Interactions Magazine (the publication for SIGCHI of the ACM). I have spoken at IDSA, Interaction, IA Summit, UI Conf, and have taught workshops for private corporations and local User Experience organizations around the world. (I'm available for doing workshops as my schedule permits.)
I am the Founder of the Interaction Design Association as I believe the discipline for IxD is the most important and poweful of the UX disciplines and should be more of a focus within more organizations than it currently is.
