David LaPlante (blog: www.davidlaplante.com) is CEO of Twelve Horses (www.twelvehorses.com), a relationship marketing and messaging company. Twelve Horses providesmarketing solutions for the mobile, e-mail, Web, and social marketing channels.
David brings 15 years of marketing, sales, customer relationship management (CRM) and direct marketing applications development experience to Twelve Horses and its global base of customers.
Previous to Twelve Horses, David was a partner in Aztech Cyberspace, a Nevada-based Internet professional services company founded in 1995. David guided Aztech to become one of Twelve Horses' most successful channel partners, ultimately leading to a merger with the Dublin Ireland-based Twelve Horses in 2002.
David started his post-college professional career as one of the youngest marketing executives in the Nevada gaming industry where he participated in the casino industry's CRM revolution in player tracking systems development.
A native of Crested Butte Colorado, David relocated to Reno in 1988 to ski race for the University of Nevada where he graduated with dual degrees in Finance and Economics.
David was named “Marketer of the Year” by Northern Nevada’s American Marketing Association in 2004 and most recently the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada recognized Twelve Horses as its “2005 Business of the Year".
Active in the community, he frequently volunteers his time with numerous community boards and activities that involve education, environment and sports. Consistent with his passion for business and technology, David is chairman of Nevada's Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology. He also serves as a director/advisor to the Reno-Tahoe chapter of the Entrepreneurs' Organization, Reno-Tahoe's Young Professional Network, Reno's Holland Project and the Reno Bike Project.
