David Koren is an Associate Principal and the Director of Marketing at Perkins Eastman, the largest architecture firm in New York. He is responsible for providing overall marketing strategy, leading the firm’s business development efforts, and supervising marketing staff in the firm's 13 offices around the United States and abroad. Prior to joining Perkins Eastman, David was a Senior Associate and Marketing Director of Gensler's Northeast Region for more than 8 years.

David is the author of The Architect’s Essentials of Marketing, a basic guide to marketing for architects, published by John Wiley & Sons and endorsed by the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He is a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) and an Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects. David was the 2005-2006 President of the New York Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), and the 2003 recipient of the SMPS New York Chapter’s Marketing Mentor Award. He was the co-chair of the Marketing Committee of the New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) from 2001 through 2004, and has created and moderated a wide variety of programs, panel discussions, roundtables, and lectures related to marketing for the built environment. In 2008, David was named one of the "40 under 40" in Building Design & Construction Magazine. He is a graduate of New York University (BFA in Dramatic Writing) and Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland (M.Phil. in Irish Theatre).

In 2007, David worked with a group of volunteers to create FIGMENT, a new annual participatory arts festival on Governors Island in New York Harbor. In 2009, FIGMENT was a three-day event with 13,331 participants and over 400 arts projects. FIGMENT has also created The City of Dreams, a season-long exhibition of 16 large-scale interactive sculptures and an 18-hole artist designed minigolf course. The City of Dreams is free, and is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until October.
