David Rosen is a Group Vice President in Makovsky + Company's Technology & Business Services Practice Group overseeing clients such as Booz & Company, Arrow Electronics, the Rocket Racing League and TransitCenter.
Previously, David served as Vice President in GCI Group’s Corporate Practice, specializing in financial services and technology public relations. Clients included Citigroup Smith Barney, MetLife, Morgenthaler Partners (private equity), Capgemini and Dell.
Prior to joining GCI, David was a Principal at Walek & Associates, an independent financial public relations firm, where he managed clients including Dow Jones Indexes, Dow Jones Newswires and the hedge fund Clarium Capital Management. David also established and led the firm’s Technology Practice Group, working with companies such as AMBER Alert, IntraLinks, Outblaze and the Rocket Racing League.
Prior to Walek, David served as an Account Executive at Margeotes | Fertitta & Gordon where he focused on the telecom sector. He began his career in PR at Mail.com, a company that pioneered web-based email and the ASP business model.
David volunteers as a crisis communications spokesman for the American Red Cross, giving TV, radio and print interviews during incidents such as fires, floods and the 2003 East Coast blackout.
He lectures regularly on media relations at New York University and the City College of New York, and has written about the impact of new technologies on PR for PRWeek and PRNews magazine. He recently delivered an address on “Revolutionary PR Technologies” at the Bulldog Reporter Media Relations 2006 Summit in New York.
A native of Buffalo, N.Y., David graduated from the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Communications and Political Science. He is a member of the World Future Society, The National Association of Science Writers. His blog, http://SellingTomorrows.com, explores the use of "the future" as a marketing tool.
