I am part of the Ecology Team in the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Department. We are dealing with all the environmental monitorings from off- to onshore, from biological parameters to chemical toxicants. We also are fighting to spread the more we can the sensitivity to the respect of the Environment with Posters, Workshops, Lessons and even with our punches.
I am mainly involved in planning, supervising and coordinating North Caspian environmental offshore (marine) sampling surveys (water, benthos, plankton, sedoment, ichthyology) in the vicinity of Company facilities. Supporting contractors' fieldwork activities, report writing and reviewing. Contractors and sub-contractors auditing (equipment, methodologies, procedures and certificates).
Caspian biodiversity assessment, especially birds, sturgeons and seals. Focal point for Caspian Seals Surveys: estimation of the population size by aerial surveys; assessment of icebreaker impacts and analysis of behavioural responses of seals to icebreaker passage; development of appropriate mitigating measures; analysis of seal movement patterns through satellite telemetry and mapping of sea. -

I planned to carry out an environmental research project monitoring the impact of tourism in the Province of Ancona. In those 12 months project I sampled coastal water along the coast once per month and I will analyse the samples to check the amount of potentially dangerous marine micro-organisms.
This project also compared the use of two different methods os analysis. the first already in use by european environmental agencies and the second not yet in use (EU framework Directive). -
