David Li has extensive entrepreneurial, product management, marketing and operational experience with a variety of Internet and global Fortune 500 companies.
As Sr. Director of Product Management for PayPal, David was responsible for team product strategy, planning, roadmap, and execution. David successfully managed various Product teams during his 5+ years tenure, including Global Risk & Operations, eBay Team, & Merchant Services team. Under his leadership, the merchant services revenue grew 110% YOY to $50MM, while on-eBay revenue grew 150% in two years to ~$300MM.
From an operational perspective, David has led teams as large as 40 product managers. He has extensive experience in recruiting, training, planning, budgeting, and cross functional collaboration. David managed the Global Risk & Operations team, which was responsible for products enabling PayPal's industry leading fraud/risk management and financial & customer service operations.
Prior to PayPal, David consulted for various Internet companies & global fortune 500 companies focusing on marketing strategy. He has 4+ years of marketing experience first as a consultant for Mercer Management Consulting and later as an independent consultant. His experiences include developing marketing strategies for companies like AOL, Netscape, Citibank, Kiva, and eBay.
David received his MBA from the Stanford GSB and a BA in Economics with Honors & Distinction from Stanford University.
