I conceived and founded, along with Timothy Boyland, AIA, the AIA Staten Island Design Awards as a response to the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce Building Awards. The program's mission was to educate the public about what good architecture is and why it is important as well as to celebrate excellence in architectural design.
This world class program featured internationally known architects Peter Eisenman, FAIA, Steven Holl, AIA, Terrence Riley, Marlon Blackwell, AIA, Duo Dikinson and landscape architect James Corner as keynote speakers.

4 AIA Awards (2002, 2005 2006), numerous awards from the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, award from American School and University (2005), listed among the top 12 Italian architects in America today by "Primo" Magazine (2008), Award of Achievement from the Chamber of Commerce of the Province of Pordenone, Italy (2008), the first Green Building Award presented by the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce (2008), publication in the book "2000 Architects" (2007).
