Database Administrator at The Salvation Army

I have four years experience designing database applications, following normalization procedures. I've re-engineered systems for National City bank to simplify reporting and data entry. I have also successfully virtualized a legacy application and retired the physical server, lowering the maintenance burden and increasing performance.
I have deployed an intranet application that utilizes Django and PostgreSQL on the server side and ExtJS on the client side. The design allows for form details to be stored in the database and built dynamically in the client on demand.
I have deployed a backup system for the entire server infrastructure at the Salvation Army Harbor Light Center. This system utilizes Bacula to centralize the data collection from multiple operating systems (such as Linux, FreeBSD and Windows Server 2003). PostgreSQL's Point In Time Recovery capability is utilized to maintain a warm standby of the database which can be activated if the master database goes down for any reason.
