CEO and Founder of TelEvolution, Inc. a startup with a patent-pending platform that dramatically improves the economics of developing and delivering next-generation communications applications and services. TelEvolution provides the technology behind PhoneGnome, Voovox, Phweet, and other private-label VoIP brands and services.
David served at EarthLink Inc. 1995-2006 as Vice President Engineering and Chief Technology Officer. At EarthLink, David was responsible for building and scaling EarthLink's technology infrastructure and research and development efforts. During David's tenure at EarthLink, he was instrumental to private placement funding efforts, the company's initial public offering in 1997, a major Sprint investment and strategic partnership, as well as EarthLink's technical growth from a handful of modems and a single server in a tiny Los Angeles office, to a multi-billion dollar company with state-of-the-art data centers across the country.
Prior to joining EarthLink, he founded Beckemeyer Development (BDT.COM) in 1985, providing consulting in Internet, security, as well as regional Internet access in the SF Bay Area.
David has co-authored seminal papers on Internet services and platforms. He can often be found speaking on panels and giving lectures on a variety of technology issues, ranging from large-scale services and Voice-over-IP to Internet infrastructure.
