Urban Revitalization, Citizen Participation, Social Design, Media
London, United Kingdom
I create, design and manage initiatives that enable transformational change and new capital growth in cities and communities.
I have designed and delivered projects valued at over £16m ($26m) that have revitalized places, enabled new investment in real estate and social infrastructure (£250m/$400m), actively involved thousands of citizens and featured the commission of new work by designers, artists and others.
My work emphasizes sustainability, social innovation, citizen participation and communications design.
Clients include national and local government, public and private investors in real estate, cultural organizations, media producers, NGOs and NPOs.
Current projects include leading a city-wide program in Moscow to support creative and social enterprise; delivering The People's Supermarket, the first of a new generation of co-operative grocery stores in the U.K.; managing a citizen participation program for a major real estate investor; and creating two social media projects, designed to foster community networks and bring open source thinking to urban renewal.
Other recent projects include creating and running a consultancy program on low-carbon development for a public housing authority; and advising a renewal initiative linked to the 2012 Olympics.
My background is in media production and I continue to produce, direct and executive produce popular TV programs and documentaries for broadcasters in the U.K. and U.S.A.
