I am taking a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend a year or so with my kids while they are still pre-school age.
In my most recent role, I was chief communicator for the REA Group to investors and media. In my career, I have been an employee, an entrepreneur, an employer, a partner, a team member and a team leader.
I have been dedicated to effective communications for 10 years. I got my start in public relations. How do you create a story? To whom do you pitch it? These are some of the lessons I learned in PR.
My public relations successes include front cover stories in The New York Times, Time magazine, BRW and BusinessWeek; CNN, Fox News and the major US networks; broadcast and satellite radio; and highly targeted internet outlets.
I've also applied these lessons to the world of investor communications. Believe me, it's a world that needs some help. A survey of analysts shows that investor relations officers in Asia Pacific are the worst in the world. I spoke an Investor Relations conference in Sydney, Au in 2008 and was rated "best of conference" by attendees.
