J&D's Bacon Salt is an innovative new seasoning that currentlly comes in three flavors (Original, Hickory and Peppered) and is delicious on a wide variety of everyday food items. According to Chicago Tribune editor Gerry Doyle, “this could revolutionize our lives, just like the Space Shuttle and sneakers with little roller skates in the heel.” While that might be a little extreme, we think that the spice and seasoning industry might be one of the last non-automated industries that's ripe for disruption.
The conventional wisdom is that you need $20-30 million to launch a successful seasoning product. Which is why we're using a combination of social marketing techniques and contextual targeting to get the word out and level the playing field. To date, we've been mentioned in Serious Eats, the front page of MSN.com, the AP, WWE magazine, PC Gamer, Entrepreneur magazine and hundreds of blogs and online forums.
