Dave Graham has a strong sense of purpose and is looking to be a high impact leader in making technology truly work for humanity and the earth.
Not daunted by difficult challenges, he is optimistic. He has used his strong software engineering skills to the benefit of several companies in transforming the possible into current reality. He now applies that strength in several non-profit areas to the benefit of humanity.
One area of focus for Dave’s life work is involved mentoring individuals to become the most impactful leaders that they can. With the Co-Active Leaders Linked he uses his technical skills as well as his life knowledge to facilitate an online learning community called “The Ultimate Resource for Leaders”. With Toastmasters International he speaks regularly on the subject of leadership. He is a fan of Steve Farber’s Extreme Leadership model.
As a mechanical engineer, Dave has spent the last several years employed to understand industrial product life-cycle management (PLM). From this knowledge and his work in the environment, Dave has developed the theory of Extreme Standardization. A theory that basically states: More standardized parts = less choice for the product designer = more choice for the consumer. He is now working to make Extreme Standardization a reality that can help humanity through a time of resource scarcity.
Dave enjoys public speaking extreme standardization, turning problems into opportunities, leadership, and issues of the environment.

August 2007 — December 2008 (1 year 5 months)
Dave Graham is Founder of Extreme Standardization, Interconnect, and Integration (ESII) a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a new paradigm for the manufacturing industry.
The simplest metaphor for extreme standardization is to think “What if our world was made of LEGO blocks?” Although this metaphor simplifies the problem quite a bit, it captures the meaning of what extreme standardization is about.
Drawing heavily upon the leanings of the software industry, ESII is looking to begin an open source program for mechanical design for the purpose of building the world’s largest repository of standardized interlocking part designs. In addition, such standardized parts will not be arbitrary but ESII will leverage heavily the Microsoft model of co-opting existing standards and extending them for the purpose of better integration.
Dave is currently working with a small team to create this new non-profit dedicated to changing how humans relate to their built world.
