During her 15 years teaching health and wellness at UCLA, Dr. Darlene Mininni discovered something groundbreaking; most people will stumble in life without a plan to master their feelings — so she created one. Her emotional education course became so popular, applications jumped from 30 to 700 in just 18 months, and soon her students’ parents were calling to find out about Dr. Mininni’s lessons.
From this overwhelming response, Dr. Mininni realized that we’re all looking for practical strategies to live our happiest lives. She left the University to write The Emotional Toolkit (St. Martins Press) and — through her seminars, writing and one-day workshops — teach people of all ages proven techniques to boost their happiness, health and longevity.
Dr. Mininni has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and a Masters degree in Health Behavior. She’s appeared on CNN, NPR and PBS and been quoted in numerous publications. Woman’s World Magazine describes her emotional toolkit as “Cutting-edge advice…that really works.” According to Dr. Mininni, “We have more control over our happiness and health than we ever dreamed possible. My goal is to teach people how to access that power.”
