I am a hard working, motivated individual who has a passion for all things technology. I work efficiently and quickly on my own, but excel and thrive in team oriented, project based environments.
I am experienced with the Cisco UCS architecture. I have deployed 4-6296UPs, 6-5108 chassis, and 32-B200 M3s. I've also deployed the C240 M3 rack mountable server. I'm also very experienced with HP hardware. This ranges through most of HP's DL series servers, to the BL series servers and chassis. I'm also very familiar with HP Virtual Connect.
I have obtained my NetApp NCDA Certification in 7-Mode, and have a tremendous passion for NetApp hardware and the Data ONTAP Platform OS. I'm experienced with both Clustered Data ONTAP and Data ONTAP running in 7-Mode. I believe my enterprise storage knowledge can help businesses implement effective and right-sized solutions to fit the business need.
My knowledge in the datacenter makes it easy to work with electricians, HVAC technicians, and facilities architects to make sure that the environment has the appropriate resources to meet the needs of a high availability datacenter.
Implemented Multisite NetApp FAS3250 HA Pairs running Clustered Data ONTAP to meet growing user community demands in the Citrix environment. Installed and configured a new UCS solution in backup datacenter consisting of 6296UPs, 5108 Chassis and B200 M3 blades, as well as 2 additional fully populated 5108 chassis in the primary data center to meet this Citrix demand as well.
To facilitate many of the changes necessary for the hardware additions, I worked with the facilities team to add an additional aisle of racks to the Data Center. This included ordering appropriate power and discussion with HVAC vendors to ensure appropriate cooling and airflow to both new and legacy equipment.
Continued to manage the Windows Server 2008 R2 domain, respond to and resolve problem tickets, and act as 3rd level support for application issues. Continued to manage the NetApp infrastructure consisting of 6 HA-Pairs over 2 geographical sites running both 7-Mode and Clustered ONTAP. Worked with VMware administrator to coordinate and upgrade ESXi 5.1 hosts to Update 2.
I specialized in managing and maintaining the NetApp Storage Infrastructure. I led the migration effort from a pair of FAS3160s to a pair of FAS3270s and a FAS3240. I obtained my NetApp Certified Data Management Administrator Certification in August of 2012 in Data ONTAP 8.0 7-mode. I worked daily with NetApp CLI, NetApp System Manager, NetApp SnapDrive, NetApp SnapManager for SQL, and SnapShot and SnapMirror technologies. I also worked regularly with some of the products in NetApp's OnCommand suite of monitoring tools.
I managed our Windows 2008 R2 Domain & Active Directory Environment, supporting 4000+ users. I assisted in managing SQL 2005, 2008, 2008 R2 & 2012 servers. I worked with our team in managing approximately 250 servers that existed in a VMware vSphere 5.0 environment across multiple datastores, hosts, clusters and data centers.
I worked alongside our VMware administrator to upgrade the VMware 5.0 environment running on HP BladeSystem Infrastructure to a Cisco UCS BladeSystem Architecture consisting of 6296UP Fabric Interconnects, UCS 5108 blade chassis, and B200 M3 Blades. As part of this migration effort, we also upgraded the VMware environment to vSphere 5.1 Update 1.
When adding new components to the Data Center, I worked closely with electricians and facilities teams to be sure that resources were available to accommodate the additions. In addition to these tasks I promptly responded to and resolved level 2 and 3 problem tickets that came through the IT Support group. I worked to complete all work to the best of my ability and as quickly and efficiently as possible. Much of my day to day support also consisted of after hours work and support. Part of maintaining a critical production environment is working with business units to develop after hours maintenance schedules that do not impact end users, and more importantly the customers.
I managed and maintained Windows 2003 & Windows 2008 Servers running business critical applications. This included patching, scheduling maintenance windows, and upgrades of the applications they ran. These servers were both physical and virtual in the datacenter environment. These servers included HP DL360s, DL365s, DL385s and BL465 series servers. The virtual environment ran on ESX 3.5, and later 4. I participated in the annual IT Disaster Recovery test. I continually took on additional responsibility as opportunity presented itself. I started managing NetApp storage, handling volume and LUN provisioning, Snapmirror replication, and other duties.
I assisted in the daily management and maintenance of a multi-site Windows 2003 Active Directory Environment. I built servers, and spent considerable amount of time in the datacenter, running CAT5e, CAT6, and FiberOptic cabling. I answered phones and assisted with desktop support, printer repair, and telephone system maintenance.
Served as Team Leader in Paint Department, later as Team Leader in Appliances Department. Assisted customers, managed inventory, completed Entry Management Training program.
