Dan Orlando is a recognized RIA Architect, specializing in enterprise class Flex and AIR applications. Dan is often called on as a resource for information on topics involving bleeding edge technology platforms for radio interviews and print publications, which include: PHP Architect magazine, Amazon Web Services, Adobe Developer Connection, IBM DeveloperWorks, and others.
Dan has recently served as Executive Director of Research and Development for Vision Media Group, an RIA software development company with locations in Phoenix and Las Vegas. Dan has also worked alongside a number of Presidents and CEOs of budding Web 2.0 companies as a senior advisor and consultant.
Having acquired extensive experience in all aspects of the enterprise application development life cycle, Dan is credited with developing successful Flex and AIR applications that include: “(RED)Wire”, the newest member of the Product(RED) family, and “Avijax”, a cloud-based interactive pay-per-view video application.
Dan has played a role in the development of several important innovations for the Adobe Flash Platform, including the AWS S3 integration library, an AMF server that runs on C++, and a RESTful service library for Flex.
Currently, Dan is the technical editor for a book on 3D ActionScript development with Papervision3D and Flash CS4, and is also working as a freelance writer and consultant on the upcoming release of Flex 4 (code named “Gumbo”) and Flash Catalyst (code named “Thermo”).
