Clinical Psychologist
Sacramento, California Area
Welcome! I'm glad I have this opportunity to introduce myself.
I have a "general practitioner" psychology practice in a suburb of Sacramento, CA. I like to work with a variety of clients and often serve as a starting point for those persons who know something is not right, but don't know where to begin in addressing their issue.
My mission as a psychologist is to help adults who struggle with unpleasant or even painful experiences or relationships and have not been able to resolve them on their own. I help these people feel better about themselves, their lives, and their relationships. I help people understand what other resources are available and what they do.
I also like to write. I may not be a good writer, but I enjoy it nevertheless. Much of my writing focuses on therapy and "the life well led," so to speak. I tend to be "slightly irreverent" in my writings and my thinking, as I seem to have developed a pretty good "built-in bullshit detector," as Ernest Hemingway used to say.
I believe it is important that people in need find the right person to help them, someone with whom they feel comfortable and who they think can help them. I invite you to learn about me through this profile and talk to me about how I can help, or let others know about me, if appropriate.
I specialize in being a generalist. This allows me to act as a starting point for persons who are not sure how to get their healing process going. I have mastered and integrated skills in:
- working with depression, anxiety, trauma, loss and grief, couples and relationship issues, and men’s issues.
- knowledge of medication and its use and abuse.
- familiarity with a broad range of specialists and specialties in mental health, medical fields, and alternative treatments and processes.
