I became obsessed with the display, design and organization of information on the internet shortly after seeing the world’s first graphical web browser in an undergraduate computer lab in 1994.
After completing a graduate degree in library and information science and after a succession of increasingly responsible positions in education, government, and agency contexts with job titles including “webmaster,” “web producer” and “functional designer,” I developed particular expertise in information architecture, web video and online retail and have worked with clients including Brookstone.com, LumberLiquidators.com, American Girl, T.J. Maxx, ShopAtHomeTV.com, Alticor, Seagate, TimeLife.com and world-famous folk music venue The Ark.
In addition to my work as information architect for Flannel, I teach the information architecture course at the University of Michigan’s Graduate School of Information.
