I have just finished as a full-time postgraduate at the University of Bristol, in the Department of Computer Science, where I was studying various aspects of Machine Learning and Data Mining (which is related to Artificial Intelligence).
From Monday 29th June 2009, I shall be working as a Web Developer for a company in Bristol called Sift Media, who specialise in online community publishing.
My academic and professional interests are in:
* Learning from Semi-Structured and Structured Data.
* Concepts within Unstructured Text, particularly relating to Semantics.
* Applying Machine Learning & Data Mining techniques to various forms of Social Science and Humanities.

* Web and Data Portability (including Web 2.0, Web 3.0 and beyond).

* Artificial Intelligence and Logic.

My goals are:
* To improve myself in order to be an help to society.

Experienced with these operating systems: Linux (particularly Ubuntu), Unix (particularly FreeBSD and Darwin), Mac OS (from 7 to X), Windows (from 95 to Vista).

I am CRB checked by the Anglican Diocese of Bath and Wells. This is because I help out with a Youth Group, which is attached to a Church in North Somerset.
I am very happily engaged to Rebecca ("Beki") Turp. We are in the middle of planning our wedding.

I also setup a "Meditation at Work" group done during thursday lunchtimes. Meditation had an "interfaith" style, and a "do not judge" policy. It was good, managed to attract between 6 to 10 people each week.
