Dan has been in the financial consulting business for over 30 years.
As a Senior Manager at Moss Adams LLP from 1998 to 2004, Dan worked on consulting projects that routinely involved practice management, business valuations, mergers and acquisitions, and marketing. He has spoken nationally and internationally to major B/D, RIA, and custodial firms about valuations and mergers and acquisitions.
He has directly consulted with several hundred companies and had discussions with hundreds more. Dan has consulted directly on the sales of over 150 businesses in the financial advisory industry across the country.
In 2005 he started The Business Ferret LLC to advise businesses, using his proprietary, advanced financial spreadsheet for the comprehensive analysis of any type of business - service, manufacture, retail, or distribution.
Using The Business Ferret Dan provides owners of businesses of any revenue size, privately-held or publicly-traded, with financial operating information that eliminates misunderstanding of finances as a reason for business failures or lack of increased financial gain. Dan typically finds monetary benefits that exceed his fee in excess of 10 times.
Using accounting financial statements as a starting point, the Business Ferret interprets the data, affording the business owner and executive team the ability to make efficient and cost-effective decisions that increase cash flow and cost effectiveness, and eliminate inefficient financial operation. In first quarter of 2005 I contracted to redesign the Moss Adams LLP financial valuation model used to do valuation projects performed through their 25 branch offices.
