Scope is the disability organisation in England and Wales whose focus is people with cerebral palsy. Their aim is that disabled people achieve equality: a society in which they are as valued and have the same human and civil rights as everyone else.

"No Voice, No Choice" is a campaign running between 2007- 2010 to ensure that all those who need Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) get the equipment and support they need.

Sponsored by the BT Better World Campaign, the brief is to create a series of short films over several themes affecting the lives of those who need AAC, to be used as campaigning resources. The final videos will be filmed in partnership with and distributed via various networks and organisations including BT, Scope,1Voice, ACE Centre.

Themes include Children and young people and Human Rights. Under each theme will be different strands including case studies, an original narrtive short and a music video

Undertaking work experience at Films of Record gave me an opportunity to work alongside documentary maker Roger Graef OBE, as I learnt the workings of documentary production.

In the development department I undertook such tasks as researching, developing and treating many documentary ideas, logging, brainstorming, editing taster videos and supporting the team.

The Richard Freed Memorial Cabaret

One of a committee heavily involved in organising this charity cabaret which took place in January 2006, raising £20,000 in support of the British Heart Foundation. As well as my various roles in stage management and performer on the evening; I produced 2 professional short films especially for the evening, which were shown to an audience of over 300 as part of the evening’s programme. ‘Motion, Agreed…Carried’ an original scripted comedy film and ‘Remembering Richard’, a tribute film and documentary on the event.
