Throughout my professional career, I've managed software development and infrastructure projects based on the best practices of business process management and improvement, success metrics, and high-performance teamwork with the goal of superior accountability to requirements, schedule and budget. I've been responsible for the design, development, and implementation of nationally-marketed software products and enterprise-wide Web applications. I've led a profitable software business from startup to acquisition. In addition to serving in management and technical positions, I've offered professional consulting services in project management, relational database application development, Web application development, strategic planning, and effective teamwork.

In 1975, I co-founded (with Ann Winblad, now a well-known software venture capitalist) Open Systems Inc., a Minneapolis-based pioneer in accounting software for small computers. Open Systems was acquired by a larger software conglomerate in 1983 for $15.5 million. I served as president and chairman of Open Systems Inc. from its founding through acquisition.

Since 2000, I've developed a family of innovative, proprietary software products and services that support accountable communications and effective teamwork for virtual teams. My Micro-Agreements Platform™ is a system for developing secure Web applications built on Active Server Pages using VBScript and JavaScript.

My customers include Boeing (several projects), Microsoft (several projects), 3M Corp., Washington Mutual Bank, NYK Logistics, Point.com, Waters Edge Natural Health Services, and many others.
