Did I mention I love what I do?

  • Continuing Studies Instructor (Contract)

    Duke University

    (Educational Institution; Higher Education industry)

    2000Present (9 years )

In this role, my creativity and energy is put to good use. I have developed, and presently deliver seminars that focus on the big picture of career transition and customer service. My classes are attended by college students, business owners, professionals presently employed, and others in career transition.

  • Seminar Facilitator & Career Coach (Contract)

    Right Management

    (Privately Held; Management Consulting industry)

    1996Present (13 years )

As a consultant with Right Management, I make a difference in the lives of those in career transition through workshop facilitation and individual coaching. I teach the finer points of self marketing, networking, interviewing, negotiation strategies, and Linkedin®. The professionals I service are of varying backgrounds and industries, including engineering, manufacturing, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, and retail. It's very rewarding work!

  • Career Coach

    University of Central Florida

    (Educational Institution; Higher Education industry)

    19901994 (4 years )

This was the turning point in my career as I discovered my passion for motivating others through seminar facilitations and coaching. In addition to coaching students and using my high energy style to deliver seminars at events on campus, I collaborated with the career center team to coordinate recruiting events with more than 100 employers.

  • Employment Manager

    Hilton - Disney Resort

    (Hospitality industry)

    19891990 (1 year )

It was an honor to work for this 813-room resort as the Employment Manager. A contribution I am proud of was the enhancement of the resort's new-hire orientation integrating an "exemplary guest service" component. I also represented the resort at job fairs and college recruiting events.

  • Recruiter

    SeaWorld Orlando

    (Public Company; Entertainment industry)

    19861989 (3 years )

In this exhilarating human resources position with the world's largest marine life park, I interfaced regularly with hiring managers while recruiting for non-exempt and exempt positions. I found new-hire orientations to be an absolute blast! Another fun component of this position was representing the attraction at recruitment events.
