Professional Experience
I built my current employer's social media presence from the ground up. Unfortunately, in higher education, there are substantial regulatory barriers that prevent tapping into the potential power of marketing via social media. I need a wider pasture to cultivate the power of these networks.
I come from a development background. I have learned valuable best practices and web standards, and I can learn any programming language quickly and understand them immediately. But my mind is wired for analysis. I people-watch. I evaluate behaviors, trends, and results unintentionally because it is just second nature to me. I always question the metrics of success and whether or not they are accurately measuring it.
My thought processes are complex beyond description. I tap into the psychology behind social networks. I have been on the Internet for over six years... long before being on the Internet was a positive thing for one's social life. So I know all the ins and outs and can effectively leverage social media to maximize brand value. It's all about niche audiences.
Goals
My ideal job title right now would be "social media strategist." Down the road I would like to be in a senior- or director-level position dealing with corporate web strategy.
I am expecting to relocate when an employer finds me and recognizes my qualifications. I am not bound geographically. Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles: it's all the same to me. And I hate self-glorification, so please try to limit requests for me to "talk myself up" more than I have already done here.
Cheers,
Daniel

My current employer. My job title reflects the part of my job description that deals with implementing a new design for an enterprise-level website. I am the in-house social media guru. I built Terry's presence on the most popular sites from the ground up. I want to do more; I see great potential. But in higher ed, there are just too many regulations that impede the flexibility that social media demands.

My expertise lies with social media, web standards, and web development. I have decided that I am not a designer. Rather than conceptualizing pretty layouts, I can develop good designs into efficient, standards-compliant XHTML/CSS. Whenever the need arises, however, I am capable of producing a simple, attractive web design.
Fowlertown is the name of my personal website. I freelance web services for various local clients.
