Dana Todd is considered one of the pioneers of the search marketing industry, but her expertise includes all forms of online marketing and interactive visibility. With 13 years of experience in exploring marketing methods in the Internet space, she can happily count herself amongst the "old-timers" who survived and thrived in the Internet new economy.
Recently, Ms. Todd helped launch startup Newsforce, which is a hosted revenue engine for premium News Publishers - helping them automate and scale lucrative advertorial campaigns on their sites. Newsforce is also the publisher of online software for PR professionals to help optimize press releases for news search engine visibility.
Prior, Dana Todd led interactive agency SiteLab for 12 years, developing a deep expertise in search engine marketing and highly effective online media. Her passion for helping clients understand and dominate the search space while still upholding core branding principles evolved SiteLab’s best practices in information architecture and online marketing.
In 2004, Ms. Todd helped to establish SEMPO, the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization, now the largest independent trade organization serving the global search marketing community in 40 countries. She currently serves on the Board of SEMPO. Separately, she serves as an adviser to industry organizations ad:tech and the Yellow Pages Association Local Search Panel.
Press (Wall Street Journal, Business Week, The Street.com), industry analysts and technology leaders frequently tap Ms. Todd for her knowledge of the search engine marketplace, particularly search engine advertising programs. Ms. Todd regularly appears as a top-ranked speaker at national conferences such as Search Engine Strategies, Ad:Tech, Kelsey Group and DMA.
Ms. Todd was a newspaper journalist and editor before switching to advertising in 1991. She became physically addicted to the Internet in 1995. Her hair color is not even close to natural.
